Jabez was born at Lancaster, Worcester, Massachusetts, on 8 January 1670/71.1,2 He married Mary Wilder, daughter of Thomas Wilder and Mary Wheeler, at Lancaster, Worcester, Massachusetts, before 1693. Wheeler says that Jabez and Mary were married "say 1701" but, if Joseph is their first child, born in 1693, they would have to have been married before 1693.

Further evidence to this earlier marriage is the entry in the Bolton Vital Records, page 200, that states Deacon Jabez Fairbank died 24 Apr 1782 in his 88th year. That would have set his birth year as 1694, which is consistent with Jabez, Jr. being the second child..1,3,4 He married Elizabeth unknown at Lancaster, Worcester, Massachusetts, on 25 March 1719. Wheeler Genealogy doesn't give her a surname..1 Jabez died in March 1758 at Lancaster, Worcester, Massachusetts, at age 87. His gravestone inscription says that he was "aged about 84," which would make his birth later than 1670..1,5

Joseph was born at England on 23 June 1633.1,2,3 He immigrated in 1634 to Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts.4,3 He married Deborah Allen, daughter of John Allen Sr. and Christian unknown, at Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts, on 5 November 1659. Joseph's surname is spelled "Bucklin" in the vital records. In Squire Buckland, Hattie Cooper calls Deborah, "d. of John Allen, Sr., of Swansey [sic]."

Joseph's father gave him as a wedding gift in 1659, a third of his lands with a promise "that after mee and my wifes decease . . .Joseph shall have and enjoy so much more land . . . as shall make up the full halfe of what I doe now possesse in Rehoboth. William Williams, TAG, Vol 69, #3".5 Joseph died on 26 March 1719 at Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts, at age 85.2,1 He was buried on 28 March 1719 at perhaps, Rumford, Providence, Rhode Island. According to William Buckland Genealogy, Rumford was in that part of Rehoboth, MA, that later became Rumford, RI. Hattie Cooper Squire Buckland says that Joseph was buried in the White Church Cemetery Rumford, RI (Seekonk). She further says that until 1812 Seekonk was a part of Rehoboth, MA.

There is probably some confusion here as to the exact location of his grave. According to Historical Data Relating to Counties, Cities and Towns in Massachusetts by William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth [of Massachusetts], (Boston: New England Historic Genealogical Society, 19970, Seekonk is in Massachusetts, having been incorporated as a town from part of Rehoboth, 26 Feb 1812. It was later (10 Apr 1861) made part of Pawtucket, RI, then later (29 Jan 1862) it was back in Mass., as a town.

As far as I can determine there is no Rumford or Seekonk, RI..1,6,2
